Jim Iuliano– Board Chairman
President and CEO, Azimuth Systems
Acton, MA

Jim Iuliano has more than a decade of CEO experience in the semiconductor, life sciences, display, and optical systems industries. Prior to joining Azimuth Systems, he was an entrepreneur in residence at North Bridge Venture Partners. Previously he served as president and CEO of E Ink Corporation, a privately-held materials technology company that developed an electronic ink to create paper-like displays. Jim joined E Ink as a technology start-up, building a global presence and strategic alliances with SONY, Philips Electronics, and Toppan Printing among others. Before E Ink, he was president, director, and CEO of Molecular Devices Corp. (NASDAQ: MDCC), an analytical instrumentation company in the life science market. In this role, he completed a successful turnaround, led an oversubscribed IPO, and grew the company’s market capitalization to nearly $250 million. Jim joined Molecular Devices from the semiconductor industry where he worked at both IBM and VLSI Technology. Jim has a B.S. from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

 

 

Charles Cazabon
Vice President Venture Capital, Life Sciences and Special Situations, BDC

Charles Cazabon is Vice President, Venture Capital responsible for BDC's Life Sciences investments and Special Situations. He joined BDC in 2001 as Managing Director, Life Sciences. Mr. Cazabon has over 20 years of venture capital experience. Before joining BDC, he served as vice president at one of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec's investment subsidiaries where he managed a team that provided venture capital, expansion and acquisition services for Quebec-based businesses. Previously, he worked in PE and VC firms in Montreal and Toronto, with an M&A boutique in Montreal and in commercial lending in Southern Ontario. He has served on numerous public and private company boards and is a former President and member of the Board of Réseau Capital, the Quebec Venture Capital Association.
 
Charles holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, a Master of Science degree in Biology from Laurentian University and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo.
 


John Chickosky
President & Chief Executive Officer, Natrix Separations

John Chickosky joined the Natrix Board of Directors in 2010 and was named President and CEO in July 2011.  Most recently, he held the position of Chief Commercial Officer and President of the BioSystems Division of Xcellerex, Inc., where he was instrumental in developing and executing the company’s commercial strategy.  He brings more than 20 years of senior management experience with life science technology companies. Prior to Xcellerex, he held senior positions at Kendro Laboratory Products (now part of ThermoFisher), where he was Vice President, Global Bioprocessing and Drug Discovery Sales and at CARR Separations, where he was Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Prior to CARR, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AquaAir, Inc. and at Sepracor, Inc as Vice President, Marketing and Vice President, Business Development.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Santa Clara University and an MBA from St. Mary’s College (California).
 



Joe Reagan
Vice President, Investments, GrowthWorks Capital

Joe Regan is a Vice President, Investments at GrowthWorks Capital. Joe joined GrowthWorks Capital in early 2003, bringing a decade of life sciences venture capital and pharmaceutical industry experience. He has been active in both company creation and the strategic growth of portfolio companies. In addition to Natrix, Joe currently serves on the Boards of Cytochroma Inc., Targeted Growth Inc., Dynacon Inc., Molecular Templates Inc., Sunnybrook Working Ventures Medical Discovery Fund Inc., Viron Therapeutics Inc., Aegera Therapeutics Inc. and Sampling Technologies Inc.


Joe has an Honours BSc (with distinction) from the University of Guelph and an MBA (Dean's List) from McMaster University.
 


 

Alexander Wong

Alexander Wong is a managing director of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and head of venture capital at the D. E. Shaw group. Dr. Wong has more than 20 years of operating, technical, private equity, and venture capital experience in the technology industry. His investment experience spans a wide range of areas, including clean and emerging technologies, next-generation semiconductor design and manufacturing, software tools, displays, and nanotechnology. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Dr. Wong was a partner at Apax Partners, a global private equity firm, where he lead that firm’s investment activities in clean energy, emerging technologies, and components in the North American market. Before that, he served as a managing director at Intel Capital, the venture capital unit of Intel Corporation, where he was head of the technology sector and responsible for investments and mergers and acquisitions for Intel’s technology and manufacturing, microprocessor, and technology research groups.
 
Dr. Wong has also held roles in operations, research and development, and government affairs at Intel Corporation, Motorola, Inc., and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Infinite Power Solutions, Inc., Natrix Separations, Inc., and Solaicx, Inc. Dr. Wong holds a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
