Natrix Technology Platform

Natrix Separations’ patented Advective™ chromatography technology combines the high binding capacity, selectivity and specificity associated with conventional resin-based chromatography with the high throughput and ease-of-use of traditional membrane products. The product consists of a polymeric hydrogel formed within a flexible porous support matrix. The support matrix provides mechanical strength, while the hydrogel properties determine the separation chemistry of the product.

The macroporous hydrogel polymer structure provides high binding site density and a large surface area for binding and rapid mass transfer. The two components can be optimized independently, yielding a revolutionary new low cost, high performance chromatography platform. Natrix technology is packaged in a single-use format, which eliminates many constraints imposed by conventional downstream processing.

BINDING CAPACITY
The three-dimensional, macroporous structure of the Natrix product produces a step-change increase in binding surface area and binding site density.

HIGH THROUGHPUT
Unlike conventional beads that rely on diffusion, Natrix chromatography is dominated by advective flow, allowing flowrates up to 25x higher than conventional resin-based columns.

SINGLE USE
Natrix products are compact and single-use, eliminating validation, cleaning, sanitization, and storage, while also enabling flexible, multi-use downstream processing.

By combining the functionality of resin-base columns, the flowrates of membranes and single-use architecture, Natrix technology empowers a new level of downstream productivity and versatility.
