James Stout, Ph.D. Joins

Burlington, Ontario, December 4, 2012 — Natrix Separations, Inc., a maker of innovative single-use chromatography products for the biopharmaceutical industry, announced today that James G. Stout, Ph.D.has joined the company in the newly created position of Vice President, Process Sciences. In his new role, Dr. Stout will be responsible for all aspects of process development and science for Natrix hydrogel chromatography membranes, advancements in bioprocess membrane technology, process application development, scale-up and technology transfer, customer field applications, and customer technical support.
Over the past 15 years, Dr. Stout established himself as a downstream process and technology leader in the biopharmaceutical industry. His recent positions include Director of Process Science & Engineering at ImmunoGen; Associate Director of Process Development at Shire HGT; Director, Purification Sciences at Amgen; Group Leader of Purification Process Sciences at the Abbott Bioresearch Center; as well as process development positions at Medarex and Alexion.

As we launch Natrix’s single-use chromatography products for capture and polish applications, we are thrilled to have someone of Jim’s stature to lead our process development and customer application support efforts.”

Dr. Stout earned his Ph.D. at the University of Cincinnati, and was an NIH Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology & Cell Biophysics. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Denison University. He is the inventor of record on several U.S. patents, and is co-author of 18 peer-reviewed publications.
